ClemBert: Here's a little secret they don't tell us about - if you put the name of the person you're quoting in the first quote tag after an equals sign, the software will put the name in the quote box.

Darn These Things Get Into Your Blood

Doubled down this week and got an Uberti Walker to go with my ASM.

New member to the club

Hello All,
Been a long time reader of THR, mostly the black powder section. I figured it was time to join so I could be in the Walker club. I got my Uberti Walker in the mail today from a trade I worked out last week. Last Walker I had was 19 years ago when I carried a pair in pommel holsters back when I was reenacting as a confederate cavalry trooper.
I know a few members here from other muzzleloading forums I'm on and the Black Powder Revolver message board.
So now to the pics,
Chad

I haven't looked at the photograph but if it's a Randall made knife it is a good one. I own 2 of them. I ordered the first one when I was 17 years old at Camp LeJeune North Carolina. Had to wait over a year to get it. I was already in WesPac when he got the order filled. That knife changed planes 6 times and gunships twice before I got it into my hot little hands up around the Rock Pile. I didn't have to wait but about 7 months on the second one. Good steel in those knives. Real good steel....

ClemBert everyone else post a picture of their Walker on the rug or table, BUT no you have to come up with a magazine type display and frankly I really like it!!
Great job!

Walker Holster

I had a piece of leather kicking around that was "distressed" - range marks, scrapes etc. A crossdraw holster of the type that Captain Augustus McCrea used to carry his Walker in Lonesome Dove came to mind as the marks and distess would add some character.

An Oil Finish over a brown dye - Hand Sewn with waxed linen thread in a saddle stitch.

Most of you are going to hate this probably. I cut my Walker down to 5 1/2 inches. I like how it came out. I haven't had the front sight reinstalled yet.

Nice carry conceal Walker! Can you get enough leverage to make practical use of that loading lever or do you have to remove the cylinder to reload?

I haven't tried it yet. I may have to make an attachment to slip over it for leverage.

For a psychotic moment I thought about sharpening the loading lever and leaving it like this:
