thanks

Thanks for letting me join.
on a side note. I wanted a rifle to go with my walker pistol, but can't afford a sharps, but sarco has a 45-70 barrle for the smle, listed in the shotgun news.
I ordered it today. I have a no1 mkIII that had was sporterized before I bought it for $100.00 and I also have the same model in original shape, so I figured it would be worth it.
I will let you know how it turns out.

The Sharps awwwwwww. Thats a rifle for sure i can see how that fits with a WALKER. Well i am glad you are a part of us. Welcome to the club indeed. I cant believe we have 775 post on this thread now. This has got to be one of the longest running threads in Black Powder Forums. All i can say is this has been a heck of a good ride so far.

good info

I found this online book, while searching for information on black powder shooting and bullet making.
I'm still looking for info on using chilled lead shot. This book has alot of good info for someone just starting out and some stuff for those of us still wanting to learn more.
it has stuff from shot gun cartridge loading to cap and ball.
only 33 pages long. short and to the point.
I used the bullet lube recipe and it works great on the conicals, I made for the Walker.
A must have. ( in my opinion)

I hope you like it.

Interesting book, with much good information. I disagree with his hyperbole regarding the use of the 'wrong' granulation, and the homily about static electricity, but otherwise a fine publication with much to recommend it.

Steve you aren't from CA are ya?
If so were you into paintball in the 1980's?
Reason I asked is cause if you are the same Youngblood (sniper with dual CO2 tanks), we go back a few years...LoL!
Was worth askin' about anyway.

I jus' had to ask, had a team in that game squad size, MacVsoG... Nailed That sniper...he wore a black tux and a thin black tie with a Tshirt.
Was he ever surprised. Two 250 man Teams...it was a big event.

My son-in-law is in saudi arabia, it's his second time to that part of the world.
I am really thankful for e-mail, we get to talk everyday.

I'm pretty sure the black powder gods will cut you down for using "Jim Shockey's Gold" in a Walker Colt.

Don't say you weren't warned...

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I thought I would show off the Uberti Walker that my GF got me for Christmas.

Looks like you got all the fixin's, nice looking Uberti. Get some real black if you get the chance. Much more smoke and flame than the wimpy synthetics.

Heckuva fine GF ModificationVt. I saw your other thread, but didn't realize the gun was a gift from GF.

I will be anxious to re-learn from the experts here .
Lastly , I have a habit of giving some of my firearms names , and as my dearly depated Grandmothers maiden name was " Walker " , I will here-by christen my new weapon as " OL' GRANNY " :)

At long last ... I am a member!

Well, back in April I ordered an Uberti Walker from S&S Firearms. After a long, long wait, it finally arrived yesterday!! Phil, the owner of S&S was great to work with over the months. Evidently, he was having a problem getting new Walkers in from Italy. He keep asking me to be patient, and I was!

She's a beauty -- see pics below.

Too bad it's my busy time at work and I may not be able to get out to the range for a while. I also got .454 Hornady balls and some wonder wads. Also got some TRESO nipples.

As soon as I get out to the range, I'll file a report. For now, add me to the list!!

Happy to be aboard

Thanks Scrat. Now I just can't wait to get out to the range and make some smoke... and some noise!!

Been too cold here to shoot my Walker and 58 Remy and it's supposed to hit single digits later this week. Seems like I get colder cause most of the time is spent loading. I did get out for about an hour and shoot some bullets I cast for the 45 acp and AR.

Can't wait for spring so I can get out and try to figure out what load and bullets will be the most accurate in my newly acquired Walker!

Hi, All.
Just a quick note.
Here is a pic of the 45-70 project gun to go with my Uberti walker.
Now I have to figure the whole paper patch bullet deal.
just think, the rifle only uses 10 grains more powder than the pistol.
I shot it with commercial loads, big boom, but no smoke, big hole though.
I gotta get some pictures of the walker in use.
that bugger sure goes through some powder.
I'm really starting to get the hang of casting and lubbing the conical bullets, and drilled out the base of a 45 long colt, so I could make cookies.
I push them out with a kitchen match.
