I realize there are a lot of threads with people going crazy over prices of AR-15s and how they aren't available. Same goes with many other firearms. After looking on guns america, and seeing people listing bushmaster a2 standard rifles for 1,300, and anything with remotely evil features for double what they are worth, I am left with a few questions....

Are these people really selling their firearms for these prices? What I am seeing is people keep trying to 1 up the next seller on price, and hope some sucker bites the bait. I have a hard time believing that they are actually selling. I see lots of people that say "deal pending, hurry if you want to buy" and everything else in an effort to really make it an impulse buy.

I know that I can go into Gander mountain and have my pick of 4 or 5 different "evil" firearms tomorrow when they open. I could buy 2K round of .223 with it as well. Its getting to the point of ludicrous that its almost the same as the famous toilet paper shortage of 73. I guess the good news is that when the market is saturated the prices will bottom out sharply.

There's a sucker born every minute.

You have to realize how many "first-person-shooter-video-game-playing frat boys with a credit card their parents gave them" there are in America. These guys, if they owned a gun before November 4th, only had one, and it was a Desert Eagle. They heard somewhere that Obama was going to ban "assault rifles" and they decided they needed one.

The joke is on them, however, and not for the reason you think.

Next semester they will play too much beer pong, miss too many classes, drop out, and join the military, where they will be able to get all of the assault rifle they can stand (no quotation marks here).

The m4 firearm has been in video games since the atleast the mid 90s. I think its word of mouth of gun owners that has caused the panic more then anything. Then when people arrive to see empty shelves the panic gets even worse, just like the toilet paper shortage of 73.

EDIT: After looking over firearms on numerous websites, I see the same firearms have been relisted for a higher price. It very well might just be people are trying to get as much as they can, however they aren't selling them. the problem is that when enough people do that it artificially drives the price up.

Anybody remember the Cabbage Patch Doll craze? People were knocking down children and pulling guns on other shoppers to get these ugly pieces of crap. Go figure.

When toilet paper fails, go the non-American way and use water. In all honesty it actually is superior to TP.

Uhh, sorry for the off topic.

I was in diapers in '73. The toilet paper shortage didn't affect me. :)

The evil black rifle shortage doesn't affect me either. :)
