The ultimate CCW accessory?

To repeat myself - this item is listed under "Training & Simulation", not "CCW accessories", or "Shooting gear". This is a hint that maybe the intended purpose is slightly different than what all of you think... Just maybe.

I thought this had to be a joke but a quick search turned this up. Apparently somebody is taking them seriously: http://www.shastadefense.com/CCWIdentificationBanners.htm

From the link (bad grammar and all):
"CCW Identification Banners
To assist in avoiding mistaken identity shooting following a critical incident. Proper deployment is important. (and yes, CCW holders aren't police; however, if you are involved in a critical incident (e.g., you defend against a person who is shooting at your family and other innocent people at the mall), you must be concerned about being shot by arriving uniformed police and/or other armed persons (CCW holders, off duty police, etc...) in the immediate aftermath. The reality is that no one will see your invisible "white hat", whether you are an off duty police officer, or a law abiding American citizen with a CCW."

I guess they compliment your CCW Badge? SMH.

It appears that the manufacturer intends it to be used just as we have envisioned and laughed at.
