The fact it is a blowback gun rather than a locked breech is probably what saved the shooter's hands and face. Still, after the first couple of rounds it should have been getting louder and recoiling more heavily as the entire propellant gas volume came blowing out of the ejection port.

You would think at some point the lack of holes appearing on the target might have been a clue...

Three and a half magazines. Stuck in the bore. Three and a half. Until no more fit. He couldn't figure it out.

I know this is a kind of a place for 2nd Amendment enthusiasts, but maybe, just maybe, some people shouldn't have guns.

I'm not convinced he should have that carbine back.

That has to be some kind of record. Last barrel I seen like that was in a lgs in SLC, something like 18-19 .22 slugs before the shooter realized something was wrong.

Wow!!! Just wow!!!
For once in my life, I have no words...

I had a 995 for awhile, I initially liked it alot. It was not as reliable as some people make them out to be,but it did work pretty good if you fed it FMJ RN only. To call it as rugged as an AK seams quite a stretch to me. The main operating components are pretty robust, but everything attached to it is downright flimsy, such as the sights, magazines, stock, trigger, grip, mag release, ect... If treated nicely they do work and are tolerant of being dirty, but It is in no way shape or form rugged enough for military service. I replaced it with an braced AR9 pistol which is way more accurate, way way more durable, and has been more reliable for me, it did cost twice as much money though of course, but I feel it will last forever. Hipoint does have excellent customer service and they did replace all the parts that fell off of mine for free, but expect you are going to need to use that service if you use it enough.

This should make some Hi Point bashers back off but I doubt it will.

I bought and old 22 rifle with 6 bulges in the barrel and thought the person that did that was pretty clueless but the Hi Point shooter probably holds the record for that now.

He had to have known right? And maybe, stupidly, thought he could shoot out the stuck bullet. Then bullets... And just kept at it? Cause how do you not feel the gun sounding and behaving differently.

Agreed. I've seen a few cutaways, none of them even half as full as this.

Dude's very lucky it didn't result in a case head failure that injured him.
I’m not sure at some point it would even matter if the case head stays intact since all of the gas is blowing out of the breech anyway.

I can almost guarantee the shooter isn’t left handed or it would have burned his eyes out after about the 20th round. Just thinking about it makes my eyes start to water.

Crazy that the guns owner just kept shooting without any indication of impacts. Seems like the type that would look down the muzzle end and pull the trigger to see if its working right.
A couple years ago a guy like this showed up at a local outdoor range that reminds me of this guy. He had a henry big boy 357 , took it out of the box it comes in and gets his box of cartridges out. Trys to load it, muzzle pointed straight down the shooting line, gets warning from RM. Manages to get the tube full and shoots once, the mag tube flew out the front about 4 feet downrange. He crawled on his hands and knees under the bench out beyond the firing line to get his tube. The RM kicked him out and relative safety was restored.
My point is some guys are just down right scary. Could you imagine a guy like that with some reloading equipment and supplies, whipping up 9mm magnums for his upcoming buffalo hunt with the hi-point :what:
