I am currently trying to help my wife find a holster for her Firestorm .380. Supposedly, since the trigger guard is shaped different than on a Bersa Thunder .380, the Firestorm is supposed to fit in any holster a PPK will. Well, that's all fine and dandy, but it still leaves a fairly large selection to go off of. Like, should I go with leather, or Kydex?

This is made more difficult by the fact that the only holsters that stores seem to keep in stock around here the cheapo Uncle Mike holsters, and I'm not pleased with them. In the search for a holster for my SP-101, I have gone through 3 different holsters, and still not found one that I totally like. At $40-50 a pop for a decent holster, hunting for a holster can get expensive!

So, looking primarily in the Puget Sound area, does anyone know of a store which might have a decent selection of holsters in stock for checking out? I'm looking to avoid the huge 'Holster Graveyard' I hear about some people collecting on this website.

Federal Discount Guns in Federal Way has a large selection of Galco holsters(leather).
Also try Bullseye Guns in Tacoma. Its been awhile since I was in there, but they had a mixture of kydex and leather holsters in stock, iirc.
Tomorrow and Sunday, the gunshow is in Puyallup and there should be several tables with different holsters.
Sometimes, reps from Bladetech will have a table there. Or you can call Bladetech and they will make one for you. Phone number is on thier website.

Just bite the bullet and call one of several custom makers -- I am partial to Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen, and Lou Alessi, but there are others just as good -- and have them craft you one just exactly like you want. You will have to wait a few months, but you will, in the end, be ahead of the game. You will have a holster that works, and it will not cost you any more than 3 or 4 of your "$50.00" holsters.

Oh, by the way, get a good gun belt while you are at it.
