What does everyone think about the quality/reliability of thermold AK47 magazines? Currently I have several tapco mags and some steel mags but I'm thinking about trying some from Thermold.

Given their spotty reliability in my ARs I'd not bother with trying them in an AK.

IMHO none of the USA made AK mags are worth buying until the comblock surplus metal mags become unobtainium.

I've tried a Tapco AK mag and a Bulgarian "bullet" plastic mag and they work fine in some guns, but not others, so I lost interest in buying any more. I've never had a problem with the surplus metal mags in any of my rifles that use them.

I have a few that came into my possession a number of years back. They have always cycled reliably. However, they are like the tapcos and other non reinforced plastic mags in that they just aren't all that durable and prone to breaking/cracking under hard use. They might be ok range mags but nothing to rely on for serious use.

They should cycle fine, but they're prone to breaking if dropped or torqued any which way.
