I found this in today's news, and I wouldn't have thought that kids in Afghanistan would have such quality toy guns. Does anyone recognize the models and/or brands of these toys and if they're available in the USA? I posted this because this is proof that if you want your kids to use guns when they're older, they need real looking toy guns (and not fantasy nerf guns or totally orange revolvers that wal mart sells now). I see a lot of parents who either flip out at ANY toy gun (even water guns), or who will only buy their boys the most unrealistic looking excuses for guns they can find. Kids should be allowed to play with realistic looking toy guns, if for no other reason than it's fun. Kids in my neighborhood, for many years, either don't have any toy guns, or they show up with some nonsense shaped thing that is yellow and purple.

1. How do you know they're toys?

2. Am I the only one that thinks letting your kids play w/ toy guns in a war zone is a really, really bad idea?

When I was getting deployed with my NG unit in December 09, one of our many briefs had a slide of a little Iraqi boy holding a toy AK-47. The intent of the brief was something along the line sof unintended consequences of our actions and using judgement. That one slide really hit me personally because I had a boy at home about the same age with a realistic toy M-16.

Can I assume you never actually had to react to such a situation?
