Very well done! I'm not in the market to have a stock done, but I'd be interested in how they are done and may attempt one on my own. Are they hand painted?

I guess i should have mentioned this when I originally posted the pics. I am a single parent trying to make ends meet and I have been doing this on the side to make some spare cash. I will tell people the basics but I cant tell what I use and how I actually do it. I am sorry if that sounds crappy and I hope theres no ill feelings torwards me for this. I am sorry.

Don't apologize. Not crappy at all. Gotta protect your trade secrets, eh? :)

Again, nice work. I'll remember you if I ever want that done.

I doubt anyone will hold that against you. :)

The stocks looks really nice, seems like they would work perfectly on a waterfowl shotgun with the grass style. Although I imagine it would work well on any rifle too.

I have one painted stock and it chips like crazy. Is this symptomatic of all painted stocks?

By the way--great work!!! I especially like the grey bolt gun stock.

Mark

Tiger rag, they seem to be holding up nicely. I have been using 8-10 coats of acrylic clear coat and my son accidentally knocked one over on the floor and it didnt even leave a mark. Walking through the woods rubbing up against branches, twigs and briars wont have any impact on them. Like all stocks though if ya take a screwdriver and purposely gouge it or drop it concrete it will obviously leave a mark. I am looking into this Krylon tough cote and if I can get my hands on it and its good I will start using that, the only draw back is it is a glossy finish in which I will hit it 2x with the flat to wipe out that sheen. I believe that under normal hunting and shooting conditions my finish will hold up as well as any other finished stock. Everyone that has purchased a stock from me has been more than impressed. I do have references if need be.

S&W I just finished a flecktarn camo for someone and What I used for stencils I think I might be able to do an AWESOME desert camo. For the grassy ones I can add more green to your taste. I ALWAYS send pics to the customer of the finished painting job for the customers approval before the stock ever sees any kind of clear coat.
