My J B bore paste is getting pretty dry, is there anything I can use to thin down the paste?

You are supposed to add just a tiny bit of the non-embedding paste to a quality gun oil to clean the barrel with it. The paste should be thick, like paste.

For my purposes, I wrap a bore cleaning cloth around a bore brush. Then, I add oil to the cloth. Last, I take a bit of the paste, and spread it over the cloth. Three runs through the barrel, and clean.

There is a recipe for a "Slurry" that has been posted here on THR multiple times by 1911Tuner:

"The slurry that I call "Magic Goop" is simple to make, and it
will make your pistol feel like it's running on buttered glass.

Pour about two teaspoons of CLP or other good oil into
a small mixing cup. (You will get better results with CLP)
start adding J&B Bore cleaner to the oil, mixing thoroughly
as you go, until the mix will just barely sag off the end of
a screwdriver, but not drip off."

While this is usually prescribed as a sort of "conditioner" for fitting parts that are too-tight, I'm sure that the addition of Breakfree CLP to your bore paste will thin it down to your liking.
