Thinking about a Taurus Millenium Pro

Question:

With the short 3.2" barrel of the Millenium Pro in 45 auto, what ammo is the best for self defense?

Am considering Ranger T 230-gr. +P that's rated at 990 fps in a 4" barrel or Double Tap's 230-gr. +P Gold Dot at 1,010 fps from 4" pipe.

Will these +P rounds be a lot harder to control than standard HP's going 100+ fps slower?

....And, what other ammo should I consider for self defense with the 45 auto in the Millenium Pro?

Thanks again in advance of your assistance! Any other suggestions for a compact 45 auto are needed as well.

With all the positive remarks about the PT-145, do any of you wish you had the slightly larger 24 / 7 with 4" barrel?

I've had my PT145 Mil Pro to the range a couple of times now, and I am sold on it. I've only put around 200 rounds through it, including a box of Gold Dot 200-gr +Ps, and it has taken everything I've fed it. The +Ps weren't even that bad to shoot, but they are not something I'd want to shoot all the time.

All in all, I think the Mil Pro is one of the best values out there.
