What do you guys/gals think of this little snubby? My father-in-law is a pretty good guy. He has had a pretty hard life, and is taking care of his step sons kids because the step son is a POS.
He runs his own business, and is fairly successful. I just think he deserves a nice gift that he probably wouldn't spend the money on, but might want to buy.

He has never mentioned a pistol, but we talk about his old deer hunting days, but I know he doesn't have time to do that, and if he did his son (my hunting buddy) or me would loan him a rifle/shotgun.
I just think he would enjoy something like this to keep in his pocket at work.

I figure the MSRP is a little high. I was thinking I could get if for $500 maybe. It is a classic after all.
:)

You might consider looking for a used original in good shape for half the price of the new classic model.

I'm betting your if your FIL is like a lot of us old geezers, he will appreciate the quality of the older gun more than he would the newer "pretender." He also sounds like he is the kind of guy that would appreciate a bargain. Spend some of the rest of the cost on ammunition if you can find any.

Anyway it is a nice idea, and I bet he will enjoy whichever one you decide to get.

Good luck in your quest.
