Those 5.11 belts are a great deal---until the plastic liner breaks, and then they are worse that a regular belt, They "will" break at the hole where your buckle attaches- ask me how I know-I've got 2 of them that did the same thing.

I got the chance to shoot the new XDm compact. I was not impressed with the gun. The trigger was mushy and had way to much creep for my taste.
I expected better from SA. If you like the EMP, keep it!

eh, have you shot any of the other striker fired polymer guns? glock? m&p? they all have relatively crappy triggers. the xd's actually have the best of the bunch, imo. very few guns are going to have triggers that don't feel like garbage compared to a decent 1911 trigger.

Well, when I was considering this, I knew that I was going to take a huge hit on trigger quality. EMP triggers are awesome!!! It's best that I keep it. . . . as soon as I replace the ambi thumb safety.

I replaced mine with an Ed Brown single sided tactical safety, for about $40. You will have to do a considerable amount of filing to it to get it where it will work but its worth it. I love mine. I also had "log man" fix me a flush fitting magazine which is well worth it. You'll lose a round in that mag but it wont "print" under a shirt any more. Now that I have done a few tweaks to my EMP I just think it the best thing since sliced bread. Hope the info helps.

I carry an EMP 40. All SS, slide and frame. Much heaver than the EMP 9mm. I have a good belt and holster and the weight doesn't bother me a bit.

jrod, I had one of my magazines finished by "log man", and what a great job he did. But yeah, I hope to get a non-ambi safety soon. Have you seen the ones on the Colt Agent? Much smaller than what's currently on mine.

I just went with a single sided safety that I knew from other posters here on THR and The Firing Line would work. I also have a set of grips that came off of a Kimber Ultra Carry 2 and stainless grip screws holding them on. I changed the mainspring housing out to a stainless one that matches my slide. At the moment I don't have a pic loaded on my computer or I'd post it. In a nutshell, that's the changes I've made to mine and love it. Out of 20 some odd hand guns I own its my favorite. I'd probably part with my P7M8 before my EMP. I've never had even one glitch of any kind with it.
