For those with experience with both handguns...

Assuming you are using the smallest grip inserts on the Springfield XDM or S&W M&P, which one of the two has the thinnest/smallest grip circumfrence?

I will not do business w S&W until they get rid of the hillary-hole
I can understand not wanting the revolver but all Smiths? I guess you don't buy Rugers or Colts either -- they have both played footsie with the dark side as well.

The XD is thinner on paper, but it did not feel thinner when I shot them both.

Funny, neither of my M&P's have a keyed safety. Because they offer it BOTH WAYS...... (I find it always helps to research the gun options just a little bit before pronouncing them unsuitable for me....)

That said, the XD-m is pretty small with the small insert installed, but you have a 4th option with the M&P. That option is to remove all grip inserts and have one made to the gun with epoxy or similar. I read an article that covered that very option.

Still, I've found that "small" on the M&P works just fine.

true dat

I am in the market for older Smith and Colt revolvers on the used market but absolutely nothing new.

To hell with them...I would rather send money to Diane Feinstein.

Understand that I am just reporting my buying habits, not trying to convince anyone.

This is Amerika (formerly America)...FOR NOW you have the right to spend your money however you want.

One thing I tell all M&P shooters is "try all 3 grips. You may be surprised!" (I haven't even held an XD(M) yet, so I can't comment on it.) When I got my M&P, because of my small hands, I assumed the small grips would be best. Imagine my huge surprise when I later discovered the large grip - with the thicker palm swell that fills my grip - fits me much better. I let a husband & wife try my M&P last week - he liked the large but preferred the medium; for her, the large felt awkward but the small was money.

My point is that thinner isn't always better. Check 'em out and see what you think. Numbers don't tell the whole story. What's the old Army saying - figures don't lie but liars figure? :p
