Picked this up yesterday in Kalispell at an LGS.

A S&W 29-10 Bounty Hunter. I never heard of the Bounty Hunter before until I saw it sitting in the showcase a week ago. At the same time I saw a Charter Bulldog 44 at another LGS. It was just over half price of this S&W. So I gave myself a week to decide which way I wanted to go. I chose the Smith. It was a consignment and the owner agreed to let it go for $725.
It shows a turn ring but the finish is about 99%. It has that nitride looking finish, not the classic S&W blue like the M27.

This finish may be a little more durable than the deep blue. I don't know but I'm good with it. Other than that I think I may find some nice wood to replace the Pachmayr grips.
I will be loading up some 44's and have it out to the range very soon.

Thanks---I shot one like Barry the Bear's Lew Horton (shown in above post)---I liked the Pachmyers better than the stock wood grips.

The bounty hunter was a run that Smith did for a customer I believe. That ended up not buying them I think. I thought of getting one when they were being sold off. And always regretted not getting one. Congratulations on your purchase.
