This is a beautiful shotgun.

I'm very plain and am not drawn to ornamentation of any kind on guns but dumping all over a gun that the OP already said he finds beautiful seems a bit rude and in bad form to me. He wondered about function, not looks.

IMHO any hammer gun is sweet, I kinda' liked it, but...... I'm not going to get it. Probably never.....ever.
Still have my heart set on a SO5 EELL.
Can you spell elitist?

I have a feeling that the people that used to actually carry a coach gun for defense against robbery would turn over in thier grave if they saw that thing. I'm sorry, if the coach driver had a solid gold shotgun, he wouldnt be driving a coach. Also, they could have chosen a better gun to "pimp", why a $200 Chinese shotgun? Dont the rich folk who buy these things want quality and not just something shiney?

The function is that somebody took a cheap POS then pimped it out and now want $2 grand for it-----that our friend here would lose his shirt on if he even spent a dime on it.

Augustus---get your FAL and don't look back.

After looking at the screws in the trotline weight I'll agree. How come they didn't use a nice Beretta silverhawk? I'm smelling the smelly smell of something smelly, like a scam.

1. Nobody answered my question. Would the shotgun in question fire if it was loaded?

2. I don't have $2,000 at the moment & even if I did, it would be on cartridges & probably the FAL.;)

3. What exactly do ya'll not like about it? What's wrong with the engraving? I admit it's flashy but this shotgun is for show, not ducks.

1. Probably?

2. Good choice.

3. The gold, mostly. I don't do flashy. Your money, your gun, your choice.

Mike

It's a cheap looking shotgun that someone has pimped out. All it needs is a fur coat and some platform shoes and it's all set to go.

Will it shoot? Yes, I sure it will. Why else would they be requiring an FFL transfer to sell it?

IS it me or did someone put them butt plate screws in with some chipped teeth? They look really chewed up to me.

I think it would be different if they started with a good gun like a Ruger, Beretta, Remington something along that line. Then have a person do the engraving not some computer controled machine. But to start off with a gun that is junk well you end up with shinny junk.

Garbage in Garbage out.

Now this on the other hand is a great looking shotgun.

Or This one.

If you want it go for it. But I would stick to the FAL and more ammo.

I think I like it, but I have had a couple already and beauty is in the eye of the beerholder.

The gold bothers me less (and I bloody hate gold) than the carving on the stock. I've never seen a gun with whittlin' on the stock that I've liked.

Oh My God!

I thought I've seen some over the top shotgun foolishness in the 'Fine Gun Room' but that is a monstrosity. Talk about pimps and fur coats is slanderous for the men that market and sell in the 'flesh' trades. That said, I'd give a nickel for it but not a penny more. And then only to melt it down and rid the world of it.

To answer your questions respectfully;
The shotgun will fire a few times - then break down because it was made with inferior and cheap materials.
Spending $$ on a FAL &/or ammo is ALWAYS a great idea or habit.
The shotgun in question is a $200 (MSRP) turd w/ about $150 in engraving and $150 in plating. The frosted apperance of the plating is an eyesore - the polishing wasn't properly completed before the plating.
I emailed the seller of the auction, and asked what is the country of origin for the shotgun, the reply was " WE THINK IT IS A CZ FRAME".
WTH:cuss: - you think???????? I don't suppose it is on the frame or reciever as required by law??:banghead:
A gold plated (or commonly polished) goat turd is still a turd.

1. Nobody answered my question. Would the shotgun in question fire if it was loaded?
I'm fairly sure it would, unless the vendor took out some parts.
Knock Chinese firearms all we want, they do work.

2. I don't have $2,000 at the moment & even if I did, it would be on cartridges & probably the FAL.
Amen.

3. What exactly do ya'll not like about it? What's wrong with the engraving?
I admit it's flashy but this shotgun is for show, not ducks.
Hey, I'm Asian. I like flashy gold stuff: we've been capping our teeth
with gold and gems since at least the 1500's. I still have a problem with that shotgun, though...

The problem is that it's a waste of gold.
The gun has no 'value' to be enhanced or honored via gilding.
'Polishing a turd' would be going too far in describing it, but something
has to be valuable, intrinsically or sentimentally, to deserve gilding.

In the automotive enthusiast's world, not everyone likes pimping that
alters the classic looks of a good car. Fewer still like it on a so-so
vehicle, and much fewer on, say, a Yugo.

JMO, YMMV, and all respect to whatever floats your boat...
:)
