I'll admit I'm a bit of a recoil junkie with rifles, and with pistols I'm not really recoil sensitive at all. I've shot lots of 454 Casull, the day I got my PM45 I shot a good 250 rounds with it, lots of which was +P, Never bothered me a bIt.

But there's no way I can think of that I'd shoot this.

A pocketable 7.62x39 :what::what:
Why even make such an item?
Who would buy such an item?
I just don't understand..

I've seen and shot dozens of hard hitting gun, but thats the first one I have seen that I don't think I'd shoot.

So let me get this right...Bud's Gun Shop wants you to send them $394.49 so you can get this gun to probably cause permanent damage to your hand should you have an otherwise brainless moment and decide to actually shoot this thing?

You might as well save yourself a whole lot of money and just take a sledge hammer out and smash your hand with it.

Oh, and I can hardly wait for the .45-70 version.

I want to see chrony results on that. Looks like maybe a 1" barrel, with 90% of that being compensator space. It looks like it will be a heck of a lot of bark, but very little bite. I doubt it would move that .30 cal any faster than a .45ACP. Most of the powder charge would go into the fireball.

BBTI clocked a 3" barreled .223 55gr pill at 1147fps, a >400fps drop from the 4" barreled one. A 1" ported barrel? Just a way to make powder burn in the air. The recoil might be relatively tame.

I have fired a .45-70 derringer. Twice. That was enough.
Was it little cheap side by side's that cost about $150 new.
I shot one myself back years ago when they sold them at a local pawn shop in the early 90's. I don't remember it being that bad, honestly I'd forgot about it.

maxxhavoc may be right, the shortness of the barrel may might tame it down, but it might not, only one way to find out. :scrutiny:

9mm and 45acp.

I'm likely gonna get a 45 version soon, I have a problem not buying 45's. I'm so addicted I'll even buy one of those.

I need help.

I hope someone fires the thing and tells us what the recoil is like for a 7.62 x39 mm. It may not be that bad. I shot one of these 223 AR15 pistols, the huge fireball startled me, but the recoil was hardly worth commenting about. Now, if this thing was chambered in something like a 45 LColt or 44 Magnum will probably be worse.

I think I fired a double barrel Derringer in 45 LC, and my recollection: it hurt. :cuss:

what other calibers is this made in??

Heizer and DoubleTap Defense are two different companies but they're making basically the same gun.

Heizer also chambers this in 45LC/410 shotgun and .223

They have 3 guns, the PAK1, the PAR1, and the PS1. The letter "P" stands for pocket, "S" stands for shotgun, so you can figure the rest out I think.

I think with some of the chamberings for these calibers the weapon works primarily by engulfing your assailant in a fireball.

"Case shell extractor for fast and smooth tactical reloads."

A "tactical" reload after every round fired...yep, they should sell a million of those...Not.

What's really funny is that it is made by Double Tap...but is a single shot. False advertising, anyone? :)

I am looking forward to the model in .600 Nitro, though I might be satisfied with .50 BMG in a pinch.

Nah man it's still legit.

You tap your target once and then when the gun flys out of your hand it taps you in the face or forehead.

With a short barrel, there's no real room to produce a lot of pressure. I bet it has worse ballistics than a .32 ACP. I think I read something on their 5.56 offering, and ballistics wise it was near the equivalent of a .22lr, with a lot more noise and muzzle flash. I don't see this being anything more.

You want recoil, try a Magnum Research BFR in .45-70 or .444 Marlin.

So lots of bang and flash without much practical use? Sounds like a novelty to me. I'm sure they sell some on those grounds but not to me..... I'd need to be pretty much entirely out of wish list guns before I'd even begin to consider spending any money but especially $400 on one.
