I dont even know what to say, but man, for those that are religious, say a few prayers this this family :(

MORELAND, Idaho -- A gruesome discovery in an Idaho home, a family of four has been found shot to death. It happened 13 miles west of Blackfoot in Bingham County.

Detectives believe Donald Booth killed his wife and two kids and then turned the shotgun on himself inside this eastern Idaho home. The family had only lived in Idaho for about four months.

Investigators want to know what may have caused a Moreland man to kill his wife and two kids before turning the gun on himself.

The Booth family - father Donald, Mother Michelle and four-year-old Sailor and two-year-old Wesley were found dead Tuesday in their home.

A Bingham County Sheriff's deputy made the discovery yesterday when he stopped by the home to do a welfare check.

The officer saw a dead body in the living room of the home.

"It was a gunshot, a 410 shotgun was used and the one child and the father was in the living room, one child was on the stairs going to the upstairs bedroom and the wife was in the upstairs bedroom," said Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson.

NewsChannel 7 learned today that a family member had called the house Monday evening and talked to Michelle.

That same family member then called the sheriff's office Tuesday morning to request that a welfare check be done.

Eleven detectives from Bingham County and the Blackfoot Police Department are working the case.

The family moved to Idaho from California in recent months.

It would be nice to see a bit more maturity in the title of our threads, something approximating "The High Road".

'It would be nice to see a bit more maturity in the title of our threads, something approximating "The High Road".'

Please explain.

I don't think the guy was making a bad pun or anything and although it may not be the most eloquent thread title it does sum up how bummed most, hopefully all of us feel, when something like this happens.

I just don't understand why folks who snap or whatever cannot just take themselves out. Why this psychological need to take out a bunch of folks around you? (Family, Co-workers, poor schmuck in the quicky mart). I realize that it is very hard if not impossible to answer that question because it is one be asked from a moment of sanity but It is just so hard for me to grasp the point in which another human just decides to go on a killing spree.

Self defense I can understand, although mentally would be hard to deal with after the fact.

War I can understand.......

Suicide I can understand.......

Terrorisim I can even understand......

Going on a killing spree taking a bunch of folks who have no business or involvement in your mental issues, I cannot understand.

**** guys. It was mature enough.
As a comparative newcomer to THR, one of the reasons I enjoy this board is that it uses language acceptable to Art's grammaw. Using deliberate misspellings to be "clever" and get in words that clearly would NOT be acceptable to Art's grammaw is not really a very high road approach.

We know that "friggin" is not a word, and we know that Art's grammaw would not approve of the word it is substututed for.

Ditto ****. That is not at all mature.

Beer's right.

No seriously guys, this is really low class, no class and totally uncalled for. If you want to make it a cesspool so that you feel at home, please go elsewhere. Gun owners are not necessarily rednecked, bigoted, foulmouthed jerks.

I wish people would lay off this "Art's Grammaw" thing. If she is real, let her post about how things offend her. If she is some made up old lady we can drag out any time our panties get in a bunch, why don't we just say "Don't use foul language" and be done with it. Personally, I enjoy the relativley clean language, but I hate the whole Grammaw thing.

Now, to the matter at hand, it does blow. And friggin' is a word I use almost everyday. Yes, we all know what it is used for, but we also know what the word heck is used for. If you are offended by the title, don't read the thread. Simple as that.

Now, all you freaks have a nice friggin' day or I'll come out there and kick you in the jimmy till you do!! :D

Peace out, yall.

My suggestion, as a non-recent arrival, would be that some people need to leave the decision making process to the Mods and Admin. If a thread title bothers you, or language offends you, and you still involve yourself and yet things remain uncommented upon by the staff then that is a strong indication where the problem lies...

Also, what appears truly uncalled for and "low brow" to me would be the discussion of semantics in a thread about a murdered family. I'm certain this is the perfect place for that, sin't it.

Yes, speaking as a minister I would say that this is, indeed, the perfect place for such discussion. What better way to sully the memory of the unfortunate victims than to use gutter language when discussing the incident? It's disrespectful, to say the least.

Besides, we're not talking "semantics" here, we're talking choice of language.

The Art's grandma's thing is there for a reason. Most of us, and presumably the people that run the site, enjoy coming to a site that isn't filled with vulgarity and hostility. Try visiting sites that have no control (DU is one, The Minefield on Gunboards is another), and then try to see how easy it is to extracty useful information out.

The story is sad, I agree with cslinger. If you wanna take yourself out, fine. Don't take out people that have nothing to do with your problem (of course, that raises the question if they were part of the problem or not).

That suggests that there is a perfect opportunity to start the thread over with a decent and appropriate title.

I vote CLOSE.
