Ok, I just picked this up an hour ago from my local gun pusher (Thanks, Betty!) and had to share...

It's a Ruger Blackhawk Bisley Flattop in .44 Special with 5-1/2" barrel as ordered by Lipsey's from Ruger (it uses the intermediate-sized frame). The picture shown is from the factory... I'll get mine done this week (hopefully). I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it sure is pretty! All steel construction (including the grip frame and ejection rod housing) with very nice rosewood grips. It weighs 45.5 oz empty on my postal scale. The finish is very attractive, somewhere between a brushed black and a matte black. And did I mention it's in .44 Special?!

As another poster puts it, these are the good old days...

Oooooh! Very Nice, please give a report back. BTW, does is come in the 4 5/8" Bill

What I've read is that Lipsey's ordered 500 of the 4-5/8" version and 500 of the 5-1/2" version, however I can't confirm this. I do have a feeling Ruger will be making more...
