Decided to begin carrying a pocket rocket again as a BUG or when I have to do deep concealment. I decided on the LCPII. Yesterday I went to my LGS and they were our of stock. I checked another LGS out and they had a couple in stock but they were about to close so not enough time to get the paperwork processed. I planned to come back today to make the purchase.

Before going there I stopped in a my usual ,LGS and good karma made a nice thing happen. They added some used guns that had just been checked out for operation. And there it was a used LCPII in silver Ceracote finish. The gin had practically no signs of wear. it came with 6 and a 7 round magazines. But the best thing is that I walked out of the store with it for $224 including FFL and tax.

Came home and stripped and lubed it. I wil take it to the range sometime this week. I felt so lucky that I bought a scratch off lottery ticket at the food market. I lost $5 on that one.

Here is a pic of the new addition. I call her Silverbug.

those are such cute little guns! I haven't had a chance to play with the lcp2 and only shot an original once. Hit a 10" gong at 75yds dead center and put it down......Congrats on a good find!

The LCP is so superior to the original model and so close in price that picking it is over the till available original model is a no-brainer. You made a hell of a shot with the LCP. I would be easier with the trigger of the model II.

I'll take a look at the 2s. I've got no reason to WANT one, we can't carry here....yet I've been looking at .380s of late.
For some reason one of the guns I like shooting the most is my p32, not sure why because (much like that shot on the gong) hitting anything for me is more luck than skill.

Enjoy. I don't shoot my original LCP all that often, but it serves its purpose. Doubt I'll replace it until it breaks beyond repair. I'd like to try an LCPII sometime, though.

I have one of the KelTec P3AT's that I've had forever. Ruger certainly "borrowed" a lot from the KelTec. I'd be tempted to try one of the Rugers, but don't carry the 380 that I have too terribly often. But there are certainly times where it's either a gun that small or nothing. Bet you like it.

I bought an LCP back when they first came out as an off duty-hot weather carry gun. I shot it a lot, qualified every 4 months with it, etc. The trigger pull was, and still is, heavy, long and very unfriendly.

I went into a gun store a few years ago to buy a rarely-seen Glock 17L. While I was there filling out the paperwork I asked to see the then "new-in-stock" LCP II. One trigger press later and the LCP II was also on my dealer paperwork. Once the LCP II came home, the original LCP has been relegated to the safe.

I found it an absolute night and day difference between the two, and for around 230 bucks the LCP II was worth every penny.

Stay safe.

Great price!

Due to weird circumstances I owned an original LCP, a Beretta Pico, a Kel-Tec P3AT, and an LCPII all at the same time.

I shot them all at the range together and took my time comparing them.

I preferred the LCPII by a large margin and carry it often. The sights are pretty good and the trigger is outstanding.

The P3AT was gifted to my FiL, the original LCP was traded towards something else, and the Pico is sitting in my safe.

I’ve carried an LCP forever. I don’t shoot it as often as I would if I reloaded for it like my other pistols, but enough to be confident in its (and my) performance. My range studies show it to be an effective 10 yard weapon. I’ve never had the first issue with its performance.
I would like to try the newer LCPll’s trigger and sights, but haven’t had the opportunity.
Good luck with yours!

I HAD a LCP until my Daughter decided she just had to have one two Christmas's ago. What's a Father to do? Anyway, I bought a LCPII and I'm glad I did. Better pretty much everything. Some prefer the original LCP. I don't. I agree thirty feet is about it for combat accuracy. It will do better with take your time deliberate fire, but that's not what the gun was meant for. I feel the same way about mine, especially when I use the ten-round magazine. The KT is my backup to my PF9. I do have a Taurus TCP that handles pretty well, but I do like a less-snappy caliber in such a small gun.

As far as the LCP-II goes, I'd definitely be interested in the new .22LR version. ;)

Hawaii permits open carry and concealed carry of handguns on the person with a Hawaii license to carry, which is only valid in the county of issue. The minimum age is 21 years old. ... Concealed carry permits require a firearms training course that has been state-approved. Permits are valid in the issuing county only.

For anybody considering a Ruger LCP/LCP2..be sure you shoot it forst. I have a second gen LCP and really didn't like shooting it. Reliable enough but hurt my hand..

I notice a squarer look, more aggressive grip surface to the slide and frame, sn moved to opposite side?, and of course the new trigger. They say sights are better, but I can’t tell from photo. I do know the sights on my LCP are almost worthless. I hope the LCPIIs are better!
I hope this helps someone else.View attachment 899522

I ordered the very first 380 KelTec pre production I saw at the Shot Show, it took a bit of time for it to come in. When I got it, I went through it and did a few slight mods to to make it into a feed demon. Today it carries 90gr CorBon HPs and runs them like a sewing machine. It is surprisingly accurate at 25 or so yards, like 3 snakes off the seat of my 50hp Kubota tractor, accurate. I carry it every day.

My son bought his wife an LCP, frankly for a lady, it was a bad joke, she could not even pull the trigger, so I built her a 22/45 Lite that I built as a custom and filled two mags with 60gr Aguila SSS ammo for her house gun. He did 23 in 23 years so she needed something for protection.
