While it is nice workmanship, 1:1 cardstock firearm models are nothing new.
There are tons of free full size "cardstock (paper) model firearms" online available for downloading and building. Aside from the 1:1 paper models of real firearms, you can even build a full-size Judge Dredd "Lawgiver", a Klingon Disruptor, or any of the various Star Trek Phasers.
Shoot, I have a 1:1 cardstock model of an 1895 Nagant revolver in my files at home. And of course, the 1911 is available in many cardstock forms.

At first I didn't think that was paper. Man o man. Smart kid. Hope he never goes 'postal'

Wow. How does he get "paper" to retail shape and rigidity? Must use some sort of resin?

So is it legal to make a "working" gun out of paper? Without being a registered arms manufacturer

You can make a real working gun if you like, so long as it's not something you need a tax stamp on (SBR, full auto, etc). It's perfectly legal.

I DID make a real rifle when I was about ten. I made the stock from a piece of treated lumber scrap and my grandfathers clapped together grinder {made from a washing machine motor}.

It was a .22 semi auto which was tactical before tactical was even a word thrown around like it is today. The reason I remember this is because my wife, was changing out pictures of an old album I had when I was a kid. My wife asked me what kind it was and I made up a smart ass answer with my name in it.

Seriously, I guess I would still be locked up as well as my grandparents for making something like that in today's world.
