Walked into a gun shop by my house this afternoon and there was a gentleman there looking for help reassembling his Phoenix hp22 He had stripped it to clean it and couldn't get it back together. Shop owner said he had no clue how it worked and I asked the gentleman permission to see his pile of parts. I looked at the shop owner and smiled, and he immediately looked at the owner and said "you understand he isn't my employee and I have no liability in what he does" as he reached under the counter for a soft mat. I put the gun together for the man and then took it back apart and slowly showed him the process of the tilting barrel and using the barrel or magazine as a spring holder. He then disassembled it and reassembled it himself. He bought me a Mountain Dew for my trouble, so we all left happy and better off than we came. Glad I stopped when I normally fight the urge to stop.

I hope the shop owner does when I need my next truckload of Sierra products. Sometimes I have to check my math to make sure I'm still saving money.

Had a much older pal some years back who would probably best be described as more-or-less harmless, though he tended to charge his reloads apparently by eye. And probably with a large soup spoon or perhaps small garden trowel. And would near about lift the shingles off the range cover with every third or fourth shot of his favorite loads.

Anyway, he walked into the indoor range once and handed me a ziplock bag of what turned out to be a Colt Officers ACP. He'd gotten totally stymied by the fact that it had a solid guide rod with the hollow recoil spring plug.

It would have gone back together much easier if he hadn't tried so hard with his pliers before giving up...
