Well, it was that time again for the spring bear hunt. This year went with the .243, since '06 just isn't as fun anymore. As with last fall's mulie buck, it was a 1 shot kill with an 80 gr. Barnes. Somehow I feel like I missed out on the whole .300 RUM experience. Or maybe I should have used the .458 Lott? No, probly not big enough for most. Anyway, just my yearly contribution to the quarter bore hunting culture, as perhaps more will enjoy its merits as the years pass, and start thinking for themselves.

Was a small bear this year, but the lingering snow pack had the season running short before one could be found. Really, guys, this bear jerky is delicious.

Congrats on the bear bud. Everyone will have an opinion on everything. Most of which is an opinion they heard from a guy that heard from a guy that seen something on the outdoor channel this one time about 4 years ago. The only way you can find out what works for you is to do your own homework. Looks like you found what works for you! Excellent shot

Congrats, a smaller bear is better than nothing at all. Next year will be better for you.
