I had a Contender back in the 90's, 22LR, 44 Mag and 223 Rem., 14" barrel. I decided to use the 223 for groundhog hunting. I zeroed it for 100 yards, using Hornady 53 GR. HP. I headed out to my hunting place in Lancaster County, PA. This place has some rolling hills. As I walked to the top of the first hill, there at the bottom was the largest groundhog, I've ever seen with his back to me. I place the Contender on my tripod, crosshairs mid back of the "silver back", squeezed the trigger. Groundhog still standing and looking around. I had time to load another round, another miss. Loaded everything back up and headed back to the shooting range. I found the Contender was sensitive to how much pressure was being placed on the tripod bag. The rounds were all over the place.
Headed home and decided to sell the whole setup. My fishing buddy bought it, he thought it looked neat. Here is a picture of tripod and bag.
