I remember local news saying black Friday was most ncis checks ever for gun sale. I went on sat to a very large gun store close to me ( probably 2000 plus new guns on any day) and selection was still very good. Maybe 100 or more ARs on any day.....fast toward to today. I have been looking all over for a gun vault for the car so told the wife lets stop there. When we walked in there were only a couple ARs...most the Smith, sig, glock and other cabinets were empty. I overheard one of the sales man say we have a couple ARs at there other store and like 12 people walked out headed that way. So much for me thinking I could tetanus AR I guess...

Was kind of surprised on the local news they had a story on just that. I was 1/2 asleep but could have swore they said all time single day record for gun sales but not sure on that. But did hear that the most first time buyers that the store had ever see. What really surprised me the most was it was a gun positive story. Even talked of how the interviewer does not currently have an semi auto gun like that but is considering one and was asking about the prices and how they had risen a little. Notice i said semi auto gun, that caught me off guard when he didnt refer to it as an asult rifle.

He is doing a lot better job as a gun salesman than he is as a president.:(

I want to go to Green Top or Bass Pro to get a spare spool filled for my Shimano Sustain 4000, but I hear they're crowded. Maybe after Christmas. I want their advice on unstretchable line brands for bass fishing a lake full of stumps and giant largemouth.

Where do you find stats on NICS checks per day?

This past Monday, I had to be at the hospital for some tests and my wife told me to stop by Vance's on my way home to buy myself a new pistol for Christmas. What a wonderful woman....since I had just bought another new pistol last month.
Note: Vance's has been the primo gun shop around here for decades.
Anyway....on my way to Vance's I hear the radio news blurbing about how gun shops are packed today and checks are a long wait. I get there and didn't even bother to stop. All of their parking lots were full and a drive-by peek inside showed wall-to-wall buyers.
So I just told her I'd get some wood grips for the new pistol and some AK mags. Then I went online and eventually tired of reading; 'sold out', 'out of stock' and 'backordered'.
I already own enough guns that I need a spreadsheet to keep track of them. I can wait until some of this quiets down to buy more.

I went to Academy yesterday to get something for work and coming out of the door was a nurse with a cart full of rifles, handguns, ammo, and accessories. Inside I found a bit of a frenzy at the gun department. People were in two different lines to buy either handguns or long guns. The ammo shelves were just about empty and the staff couldn't keep up trying to stock them.

I sarcastically asked an employee if they were keeping him busy and he said that the store had been crazy since Saturday. They could barely keep up with demand and they were stacking the ARs behind the counter ready to sell. People weren't even being picky, they just asked for whatever AR-15 they had. Even the M&P 15-22 was flying off the shelf.

I just dropped by both gunshops local to my workplace. Crowded, but not swamped. Perhaps that's because the walls were completely stripped of all ARs. An AO M1 carbine and Beretta Storm were still available (1 per store). Oh, and one AK47 for $800. I'd bet 10-1 it is already gone. I literally saw the last AR on the wall purchased by a man who clearly had no idea what he was buying except that it was an AR. No salesmenship needed.

Pistols selection was on the thin side, I went looking for a bobbed 1911 but they had none (but that is not too surprising), but not too bad. Local ammo is getting scarce, but still plenty to be had.

My LGS was apparently very busy yesterday, almost bare shelves at this point. Going to see for myself this evening.
