Thoughts on Lee Classic Turret Press?

The handle is pretty close to the Safety Prime but it shouldn't be necessary to bend it any further than the offset that's built into it. I would adjust the positioning of the bracket that holds the Safety Prime first and also be sure that the handle bend is away from the primer.

The bracket is currently adjusted to present the priming arm straight inline with the pivoting small primer arm on the press just like Lee's video and dispensing of the primer was flawless through 100 (except the last two which do not feed) I do have the bend pointing away from the top of the primer tray but it is still closer than my liking.
Last night I changed the handle ratcheting adjustment to not go past straight vertical and that provided a little more clearance but at the cost that the bottom of the stroke is lower. I guess I can live with the position now. I can see why some like the roller handle now.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I use the ergo handle from InLine Fabrications, Actually I have all of their stuff for the Lee turret. That handle gives me clearance of the primer case while not demanding too low a range in the stroke.

Well, I don't see their Case Ejector System :D

Question: Do you remember how large a hole you had to drill in your bench top to clear the spent primer tube?

I've no issue with sizing and priming (once I got things adjusted right) on the Lee Classic Turret, but for me sizing and priming off press works well as I can do those tasks when I have short windows of time. I like to do the actual reloading when I am not pressed for time.
I find just using three dies and giving the press an extra stroke where the sizing die usually sits gives me just the right amount of time to remove the loaded round and grab an empty case to put in the press.

This system just seems to work better for me.

I do actually have the case ejector system, but this older picture served for simplicity re the handle.

The hole is drilled at an angle to clear the table frame. I would have used a spade bit bigger than the tube. The hole mouth is radiused. Done again, I would have checked enough to know to set the high mount back a bit, so the primer tube could go straight down. However, this works and has never been temperamental, knock on wood.

I have the handle slid down in the clamp so the ball is below the turret a little. It misses the safety prime and when I seat the primer I can grab the turret post with my fingers and squeeze to get a firm set of the primer.

I want to get one of these for myself for Christmas. Is there one of the complete kits that is better than the others?

I already have dies for 380 9mm 38/357 and 45 and have a breech lock press. I just want to speed up the process a bit.

If you buy a kit, you will get stuff you don't need. Just buy the press and then extra 4-hole turrets, one for each die set (referring to Lee Cast).

Totally agree, in this case buy separate. Lee also has a newer powder measure out called the Lee Auto Drum instead of the Auto Disk. A better way to go and to my knowledge is not available in the kit.

Midway has a classic turret kit, but it has a Lee disc measure in it. I would buy just the press, the safety prime and the new auto drum measure. I wonder hoe long before the auto drum is included in the kit or offered as an option? Its clearly a better measure.
