Hello everyone,
I'm thinking of getting a Mossberg MVP in 5.56 for precision plinking and target shooting. Mostly for just having fun from 200-500 yards. I'm trying to decide between the Varmint and Predator models. I really like the laminated gray wood stock, and I've handled both and like both so it's a tough decision. I already have many ARs but nothing over 16 inches, so the MVP would be for longer range shooting and I think the Varmint model would net me the most velocity out of my ammo for reaching out. On the other hand the Predator model is lighter and handier but I won't be carrying it much or hunting so the weight and length doesn't really matter.
Has anyone shot both and can compare them? Velocity differences aside, is one more accurate than the other? I also see that they have 1/9 twist barrels, has anyone shot 77-grain ammo out of them at long range and what were the results?
