I am considering buying a Remington 700 PSS chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum with a round count at about 350-400 rnds. The specs on it are:

IOR Valdada 2.5-10x42mm European Tactical optic w/original box
• Photo engraved rangefinding reticle
• Full multicoating and anti-reflection treatment eliminating glare and maximizing light transmission
• 6061-T6 alloy housing, 'O' ring sealed and nitrogen filled
• Waterproof
• Fogproof
• Shockproof
• High resolution optic system
• Magnum lock support system on reticle
• Superior optical glass by Schott Glasswerk, Germany
½ Minute of Angle adjustments windage and elevation
Illuminated MP-8 reticle
Sun Shade
Butler Creek Scope Caps

IOR M1913 tactical one piece base
IOR HD tactical rings 30mm, low (std)
Rings were lapped in when the they were mounted and the optic installed
Harris Bipod 6-9in BR Bipod
Adjustable leather military sling
Hard sided case
Shooting glove (mit)
Pre-set torque wrench (for ring nuts and base plate screws)
Dewey one piece cleaning rod

Here is a pic of the rifle.

The seller is asking for $1300 but I hope that he might take $1000 cash (as I have that right now). Is this a good enough deal? Thanks for your input.

That's a terrible deal. You should give me the seller's contact info so I can give him a piece of my mind.

I have a PSS in .300 Win Mag, and love the rifle. I was fortunate enough to get one with the detachable magazine. Get a muzzle break, and it will be a pleasure to shoot. Don't let that deal get away, you will kick yourself later if you do.

I have had my 700 PSS (.308) for years now and love it. I'd really like to replicate that paint job in your pic, do you have a higher res pic by any chance?

I do not have a better pic other than the original posted & this one (those were the only 2 he sent me). But he said that this was a rattle-can paint job (for those of you who don't know what that is, it means he did it himself with spraypaint).

Oh it also has a HS Precision Kevlar Composite stock, free floated barrel & recessed crown. I forgot to mention just that little bit earlier.

No problem...

If it weren't for the black colorings, that rifle would disappear in that pic!

I'm thinking about a rattle can job myself, just haven't quite settled on the colors/pattern.

Good deal. Buy it. Even better if you can get it for less than $1,300, but a good deal even at that price.

Dang, 1300 for that scope is a bit high. As I remember you can by the 2.5-10x42 IOR for right at $900.

Oh, I missed the part where they are throwing in a pretty fair rifle, rail, bi-pod, sling and hard case with the scope.

Bro you can't be serious. At which Dick's is this.

Huntoon and Wanamaker in Topeka Ks. I bought this same set up in .223 for coyotes the only dif is my simmons scope vs what he has and the coating which I can get for under $100 at the same place. Give them a call and ask.785-271-5398. Even if you bought the weapon new from an outstanding gunsmith I think you could do better on a used rifle. It's just my opinion.
