I just left the gunshop and they had a 24/7 in .45

I was there to pickup an XD45 but after holding the Taurus I had to sleep on it. The taurus felt great, has a 1911 style safety (which I like) and the DA after misfire was an awsome feature but I wanted to research the taurus before buying. He wants $429 out the door. Is that a fair price. Impact has them much cheaper but not in stock and by the time I add ffl and shipping it is not much cheaper. Plus I will get him to throw in a box of ammo free. Do they make any good holsters for it yet?

I can vouch for the 24/7 in .40.
It is a very ergonomic design and is in my opinion a lot of gun for the money.
I haven't found a holster yet but I don't plan on carrying mine, I think the Millenium Pro is more likely the best carry Taurus.

Well, it got NRA "Gun of the Year" last year, and I've heard that various police/security agencies are eyeing it. It seems to have a lot of good features.

To me, Taurus is becoming sort of like the Honda/Acura of the handgun market. Inexpensive but not cheap, their new products are extremely high quality, and you get a lot of gun for the money...plus the unlimited lifetime warranty. They also give their stuff nice LINES...unlike another maker of polymer-including pistols that shall not be named. ;)

The 24/7 .45 comes in several versions, including a Long Slide. The Taurus website shows them all.

Please Give Us An Update

Hey Helstrm,

Once you take your 24/7-Pro to the range and send a few hundred down the barrel, please be so kind as to type up a little report for those of us who cannot seem to find a 24/7-Pro in their metropolitan area of about 2-million+!

I've owned a 24/7 (non-pro) in a .40 for about nine months now and absolutely love it! A reliable and fun gun to shoot.

I could probably just make the 5-hour drive to Miami and see if they have any Pro models available in the factory, but until then I'll hope that someone in the Tampa Bay area puts a Pro model up for sale!

Well I went and picked it up but from a different shop. They had a stainless model and I talked them down to $400 out the door on it. This one felt tighter than the last. I will post a range report after I take it out this weekend.

Can you be a little more specific? I am looking for adult opinions on this firearm. Have you ever owned a 24/7 pro? Fired one? Or do you know a guy that has a sister that dated a guy that saw another guy talking to his friend and over heard him saying that he read about a guy that knew a guy that had a brother who had one that was crap?

Please do a write-up on it. I have it on my list also. After holding one ata gun show it went up a couple places. Much less girth than any other hi-cap .45ACP.

Helstrm,
Looking forward to your report on the 24/7 and I get the feeling that kmrcstintn is just jealous of your purchase and that was as eloquently as he could put it :p

I have a PT145 MilPro and I love the thing. It is based off of the 24/7 nonpro model (DAO).

Tell me how the trigger is. The DAO trigger on my PT145 is so nice I can't even put words to it. I would like to know how will they did on the SA trigger.

I own both Mill pro and 24/7 in 45.

All i can say is that the millinium pro is the best all around carry pistol for the money. I have a para C7.45 LDA that is my pride and joy but, carry the pro most times. I also recently bought a 24/7 45 cal. in their black finish. After a few hundred rounds with only one feed problem that I can say for sure was the wolf ammo I was shooting in it. It rocks. The recoil is like shooting a nine mil to me. And yes I can't wait for a set of adjustable sights. Mine shoots high and right, maybe seven inches from point of aim. But groups tight at 25 yards. Had three inch group at 25 yards free standing. And yes I'm an ole geezer at 50 yers old so the eyes aren't what they use to be.

I carried a regular PT 145 for years and just up graded it to a pro model with stainless slide. Both have performed flawless with no jams. Even new from the box. And yes taurus stands behind their product.

Hope this helps a few people at least think over the 24/7. It's a lot of bang for a few hundred bucks. Buy the 45 cal:neener:

I LOVE my Taurus 24/7 Pro

I purchased the 24/7 in .45 3 months ago. At the time, I did not even know the Pro existed, just that the damn thing felt better in my small/medium hands than any gun I have ever held. I fired 200 rounds through it, and besides the trigger, loved it. A week later, I found out that a local gun store had the Pro version, so I sold the $350 24/7 for $300 and bought the Pro for $379. It is without a doubt my favorite gun yet. I just completed a Combat Handgun course this last weekend. 8a to 10:30p with an hour break. Of the 14 guys there, just the instructor, one other guy and myself brought .45 Cal. All others were 9mm and a couple .40's. All guns were Glocks or Sigs. At first, I got "looks" like what the hell is that piece of non-Glock/Sig crap; but, after I shot, those looks went away. We fired 1000 rds in 2 days, not a single failure(except the ones purposely done for training). At one point, the instructor asked us to fire 3 shots in 1.5sec 2x's. When he got to my target he said, "I thought I told you to fire 6 shots, not 2". I told him, "I DID!!"

Great, accurate and the best polymer grip you will ever hold in your hands!!! O, and by the way, did I mention I paid $379!!!
