On my last cannon the comment came that the height of the cannon to the axial would cause an undue amount of recoil. [ Of something like that.] I still liked the look of the mounts and the idea of adding shocks to them seemed like a fun idea. I just finished welding up the carriage and the mounts. The elevator and shocks are not here - yet. As the cannon will be firing slight above horizontal, and the mounts articulate around the axial, the shocks will have about ten degrees to compensate. They are twin 1,000# spring loaded. Since it's not done yet and the only plans are the ones that come to mind as I'm cutting or welding, feel free to tell me what you would do at this point. This guy is 3.5' with a 2" bore. I got a huge red dot site with a military grade green laser mounted on it.
