THR thread inevitabilities

709: Someone else will claim that every family member's car trunk is stocked with enough supplies to comfortably survive on an airless planetoid for 3 years while carrying on a two-front war against alien invaders.

Chances are also good that in any SHTF/EOTWAWKI discussion someone will claim they have a fully functioning underground bunker with 10 years supply of food and capabile of withstanding a full-frontal assault from a division of assault troups or mustard gas attack.

Later in the same post they will reveal they live in an appartment.

or they will carry a 100 pound load out into the woods and live off the land until things settle down.

In any thread related to reliability there will be a one-upsmanship battle that will likely spill over to whose pickup truck has the most miles on it.

Whenever Steve posts there will be a "Dude, what the..?" response followed by 3 "thank you for that post" responses, followed by much sharing and a group hug. :D

653) Someone will come in at the tail end of the thread after only reading the first few and last few posts and repeat something that was mentioned at least once before.

Oh wait, did somebody already say that...?

What, it was me on page 4? :O

Someone will start an OT thread and fifty people will rush in with replies to try to get in before Jeff locks it.

Along the same lines, someone will claim they are ready to bug-out in under 90 seconds with zero warning and live off the land for years on end. No matter the time of day, if they are in the shower or up in the attic laying insulation they can load up and ship out lickety split.

695) A newbie will ask, "what the hell is a tactical wheelbarrow?"
They may also wonder who "Gunkid" (among all his other aliases) is.

Okay, what is a tactical wheelbarrow and who are gunkid and gecko45. I am serious I don't know.

733. A .50BMG is the only gun capable of taking a elk past 73.4 yards.

When the topic of SKS rifles come up, some guy will brag he got an "unissued" NIB Russian Tula SKS rifle for $199... then actually ask "did I do good?" As if we can even verify this, or someone is going to disagree and tell him he paid too much.

In the same thread, someone will say they put a red dot and detachable mag on their Yugo SKS... and imply it can hit a flea's eyeball at 400 yards in a stiff wind... so why would anyone waste money on an AR-15? :uhoh:

728. In any 9mm Vs. .45 ACP thread by the 3rd page a poster will say something like " Okay I will shoot you twice with a 9mm and if you are still capable you can shoot me with a .45" and then within the next four posts somebody will call the poster to irresponsible to own a gun, within 25 post the thread will be locked.

At least three "what should I buy" threads will be started daily. Despite having about a billion identical threads available via the search function there will be the non-stop threads of "what 9mm should I buy". The threads will also continue to be started despite the near impossibility of being able to tell someone else what gun will fit their hand or be most comfortable to shoot on the internet.

80% of the time the poster will even comment "I know there are already a lot of threads like this" and proceede to tells why their thread is so radically different.

Their reasoning usually involves that the thread was started on Tuesday or that they want a 10mm with checkered grip pannels.

729 - Any post inquiring about buying cheap ammunition will get a referral to Walmart within the first half dozen posts followed within a half dozen by the assertion that the poster will never shop at Walmart because of their firearms policies.

I refuse to read it all - so eat my repetition if it happens.

A. Heller didn't allow me to own an atomic cannon and it's the NRA's fault

B. Teachers should not be able to carry guns as they are liberals and one of them gave me a "D"

C. The Red Chinese are planning to take over the US - wait - I need to go to WalMart for cheap ammo to fight them off.

Somone will post that they carry a weapon at all times. In the shower, while scuba diving, while laying insulation in the attic and while sharing "special time" with the wife. Always. All the time. Never off the body.

Someone else will respond that having a hostered weapon on whilst making the happy with the wife seems a bit impractical.

The original poster will respond questioning whether the respondant really believes in the 2nd Ammendment and comment that perhaps the respondant isn't "really serrious" about defending themselves. Then they will toss out a wild scenario whereby having a firearm while thirty feet in the air in a tree would protect you in the event a pack of motorcycle bandits surrounds the base of the tree and lights the tree on fire.

The mess will quickly disolve into an open carry versus concealed carry debate.

And also, there is always the risks of zombie threads coming back. Not that I don't enjoy them, I just can't resist spinning a little joke.:D

I don't know if these have been posted yet, but I got a couple:

-The whole "AK vs AR" and such...If I had a nickel...

-The whole "Plastic vs Metal" and such...If I had a dime...

Usually polls like "If you could only have ONE..." or "Which caliber..." or "Shotgun vs Rifle vs Handgun vs Knife vs Slingshot + big bag of dried dog food, etc"

I'm not saying it is not "fun," or whatever, but people will continue to post threads that have been posted before...and of course it'll take about a day or two for it to get locked or allowed to sink to the bottom of the thread list...This thread is kind of funny :p

736. Any mention of a barrel over 18 inches long will soon bring a response from someone saying he would shorten it if the gun were his.
