threading a gun barrel

Hey everybody,


I have a Escort Marine Guard with a folding stock which I love. Mainly bought for home defence, but have been getting into hunting this year and would like to use it in the future. Can't really affort to buy another shotgun right now so I was wondering if I could thread(or have a gunsmith do this for me) the barrel so that it could take some chokes. I would like something to pattern my shots a bit tighter for birdhunting. Is this possible? Can I buy another barrel for this gun that would take chokes? Where? Are all choke threads the same?

There are a few different choke threads, and which one you can use will depend on your barrel. If you have a full service gunsmith, they should be able to thread for screw in chokes. Tru-choke is pretty common.

Probably cheaper to buy a second barrel than have chokes installed. Might buy a Mossberg for less than having it threaded.

Well, maybe if you can buy another barrel, or a Mossberg for $85 bucks!
