I have an older Ithaca model 37 that has no threads for choke tubes on it. Would it be cheaper / more efficient to pay a gunsmith to thread it or just to buy a new barrel? (I want some tighter chokes for turkey.)

Numrich offers a turkey conversion kit for the Ithaca 37 but it's a bit pricey at $299 for the barrel, stock and forearm grip in camo.

Gander Mtn. will thread it for the Briley chokes for $100 I think. The choke set is $20 extra, afaik.

Not to steal the thread, but when shopping for an aftermarket choke (turkey), who makes them for the factory threaded Ithaca barrel?
