I searched around and couldn't find an answer to this question. Will thumb breaks become easier to "break" over time? We used Safariland duty rigs with two retention levels in my firearms class and some of them, esp the newer holsters, were really diffucult to break. Not to mention I hated having to "rock" the gun foreward to get it out.

Generally speaking Yes. Any mechanical device, a snap per sae, will 'wear in" and loosen up over time with use. Its very dependent on the snap used...Dot, etc, how tight it is to begin with, and how often its used. Hope that makes sense.........Shoot well.

Most holsters have well designed snaps. (metal with the little free-floating ring inside the female end. made of spring steel or at least something harder than the rest of the snap) These will last years and not usually what will wear out first. Just MHO of course and some holster makers on the baord may be able to shed more light.
