Tikka Accuracy

Dryhumor,

That's a beautiful 695! My first Tikka was a 695 in 270. I've had it for 15 years and it was my go to rifle for many years. Still a tackdriver but at 9lbs scoped, I don't carry it as much anymore. I broke the stock (plain jane wood on mine) years ago and it now resides in a McM stock. Great rifles!

Thanks Swede, your 695 looks good as well ceracoated and in the new stock. Great wood on the 7mm08.

Dinosaur1, you might think about using the .243 as a base for a semi custom build. New barrel, maybe new caliber, new stock, stainless lug, metal shroud. Lot of possibilities there...

I have a Tikka T3 laminated in 300 WSM. This group is at 307 yards. Rem brass, barnes TTSX 168's on top of 70 grains of RL 22. Should work for elk.

My Tikka is the most accurate rifle I have ever shot with both factory and handloads, and I shoot alot. My best handloads will shoot semi smooth one hole groups if you do your part, it is unreal that they get a little 6lbs rifle to do that. My only gripe about the Tikka are it does not have the classic sporter feel to it, if that is what you want get one of the new Winchester 70s I highly recommend them as well, my Model 70 Featherweight 308 would get 1/2" groups with 150gr Speer BTSP and Varget.

I made one modification to my .30-'06 Tikka T3. I put on a Limbsaver recoil pad last weekend. As Kachok said... they're very light rifles, thus recoil is noticeable depending on caliber of course.
