I've run Lee 1000 presses for 20 years, know them well.I bought a new one and loaded up 500 2x win. brass in .45acp,size/deprime/prime in one step, then drop powder and seat separate.(the best way to use these to keep frustration level tolerable!) Got some new starline brass and started running them around to size/prime and machine started choking with indexing issues, only with brass in shell plate. Besides keeping the primer arm clean,if you take and shim the play out where the arm joins the carrier it allows a smoother primer feed and alignment with seating pin.All it takes is a very small piece of paper( I used a piece off the primer pack) between the plastic arm and the metal carrier housing. Problem solved, ran 500 around no glitches. I have done this on my older ones same results. The weight of a full primer tray pulls the arm down and can cause snagging. Hope this helps someone.
