Lee Pro 1000 update

It's very unusual for the Lee autodisk to be that unreliable.

That's been my experience too. I had to separate my measure from the riser and there is a tube up in there that wasn't seated the whole way. I drove it up until it seated with a wooden dowel rod and haven't had any trouble with it's accuracy since. It left a ledge for the powder to collect on and would give me a light load and a heavy load and there was no consistency to it.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I have heard that before too, from your posts I believe. It has never happened to me but if yours shipped that way there are bound to be more that have also.

my charges got a lot more consistant after i made a baffle for the powder hopper. i used a lid from a empty 1lb powder container, drilled 3 holes in it ,dropped it in the hopper upside down, fits snug in the hopper. ive never gotten the charge bar to be consistant unless dropping 5 or 6 grains or more or by using a finer powder. disks are consistant with some, + or - 1 10th with others

For those of you wondering what part tightgroup tiger is talking about, it's the drop tube that's pressed into the auto disk base shown in the picture below (see white arrow). If you are experiencing similar problem, inspect that the tube is pressed all the way up against the base without any gap. If you see any obvious ledge, you can always file/sand the ledge smooth so powder won't settle on the ledge to cause inconsistent powder drops - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=7898294#post7898294

I've heard that a lot, I've never tried it. My lightest charge is 7.3 gr with my charge bar. The discs always worked well but I could never deal with not having any adjustment.

Unless it's a superfine powder like AA pistol powders I would call .1 +/- pretty consistent.

I initially drank the blue cool aid. Didn't take long to realize I didn't like it and that I could buy (2) pro 1000's and a turret for what I could get out of the other brand so that is what I did. Now I do my 45's on one, my 9's on the other and everything else on the turret.

Yea, Ive had trouble with TAC-I dont know where it stands on the fineness scale but it appears to me to be one of the finer that I've seen.
