I've picked up 8 pounds of Titegroup to load 9MM and .45ACP. I have a Lee die set for the 9MM and would like to make use of the powder through expanding die and have been thinking on the Lee Pro and standard Auto Disks for a while. If the measure meters well with the powders I use for straight wall cartridges, I'm thinking of getting a couple of them. This frees up my Hornady Lock N Load measure to reload milsurp rifle on the Lee Classic Turret I'm looking at buying.

Here's the list of calibers/cartridges:

.30 carbine - W296 and any other known good powders for this cartridge. Suggestions welcome, as I just used up a 4 pound jug of W206 and will need to buy another jug soon.

.45ACP - W231 and Titegroup

9MM - Titegroup

Possibly 7.62 X 25 Tokarev - Sugestions for powder welcome as well, I haven't started reloading for this and haven't bought a die set yet. Any input from anyone who has reloaded this cartridge is also welcome. Will be shot through a CZ-52 for plinking purposes, so economy is the top priority, not accuracy, though I like accuracy as well. I use mostly lead for my pistol reloads.

Regards,

Dave

Meters fine. No leaking and very consistant with the single disk. Not sure about the adjustable charge bar.. I never really used mine.

I've used the Lee disk powder measures, both the original and the Pro models, on my turret and progressive Lee presses for 20+ years. I do find that they leak a bit over the course of a hundred or more rounds, especially with the fine ball powders that I usually use (Accurate #2 and #5, mostly) but I think it's more unsightly than dangerous. Have never measured how much accumulates, but I'd estimate it's less than 1 grain total over 300 rounds or so. I usually just vacuum it off the press at the end of a session, and haven't had a vacuum cleaner explode on me yet. :D

Dave, it might leak a little bit as TG is a fine powder, but it shouldn't be bad enough to stop the presses. TG meters quite well from an Auto Disc, in fact TG meters well through every measure I have ever tried it in.

Based on the feedback you gentlemen are providing the Pro Auto Disk, without the fine adjustment charge bar, should do everything I'm wanting to do related to reloading 9MM and .45ACP on my Hornady. All I might need to do is give a shot of compressed air to the reloading press when I stop to add primers and weigh my powder drops every hundred rounds as per normal. Not a big deal, since my Hornady is faster than I need it to be already. I think I'll go for it and see how it goes.

If anyone has any input on weather I really ought to get the charge bar to meter the Tight Group powder, let me know. The plan is to use a lower end basic load just fast enough to operate the slide function with a standard spring on a Browning High Power.

Thanks for your input,

Dave

Dave, a soft paint brush is better than compressed air for cleaning if you have a little leakage or a spill. It won't blow the powder into everything or tight spaces. Just brush it away.

You won't have any problems with TG and your set-up, it should run good.
