Being that we are one of only two states that doesn't allow the right to carry concealed. I think that is a good political platform to run on and to ram it down the antigun liberals throats! Why are we the ones left??? Whats the reason? There is no good reason. Put the crook county politicians who run the state on the spot.

The problem is basically a cultural one. Our media, politicians, schools, LEOs (not all but around my area in the CHicagoland area), and schools are demonizing guns. The majority of people in IL 75% live in the Chicagoland area and many are opposed to guns simply through a lack of knowledge.

I will explain more later as I am going to bed.

Cook County just had an advisory referendum reading:

For the health and safety of children and the entire community, shall the State of Illinois enact a comprehensive ban on the manufacture, sale, delivery and possession of military-style assault weapons and .50 caliber rifles?

It passed. It passed huge. Roughly 87-13.

You think concealed carry is real likely to pass right now?

Every state has an armpit. Chicago is that for Illinois.

WI has an armpit too: Milwaukee.

We also have a rectum: Madison.

Maybe this is a silly idea... but what could we do together as WI and IL gun owners to kick our state lawmakers in the pants?

We've tried it on our own - didn't work. I dunno, maybe I'm just desperate at this point, but what if?

You think concealed carry is real likely to pass right now?

Isn't it obsurd that crook county should have any say in what the rest of the state should legislate? They can speak for themselves. Yes , I feel we should get rid of the FOID card first before even trying to push for concealed carry.

Good analogy. Although I would consider Chicago our rectum as well. At least your state is trying and CLOSELY passed the concealed carry law. I believe it was narrowly defeated by two votes. That ain't much. In my pathetic state we are going in just the opposite direction. Instead of trying to get concealed carry laws passed or at least try to get rid of the FOID card our crook county politicians are trying to make it more restrictive trying to bring up AWB crap laws.
