I am looking at (and am currently high bidder) on a Replica Arms Marietta Ohio pistol.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=527594297

As one can see, it is not described very well, but what I see is a replica 1860 Colt .44 Army.

The pics do not show any date of manufacture, only a hint of proof marks, maybe, and I am thinking it is an ASM product, but that is a guess. I have a Q into the seller via email but he seems to be not to be amenable to anything other than a phone call, which I find strange and different than normal GB protocol.

I am willing to take a chance on this one for $53 and if it is worth more someone will definitely snatch it from me. I have always wanted an 1860 Army just for comparison to my 1851 Navy and my 1848 Pocket.

I hope some of you folks will outbid me and give a full report. ;)

I see someone saved you from yourself Jim! It could be an ASM with the maker's mark under the loading lever or an Uberti with the maker's mark hidden under the trigger guard. I lean toward the latter since the date code and frame proofs are not on the side of the frame. I think you would have to pull the trigger guard to see all the frame markings.

Jim - My daughter says "You are so behind the times" whenever I complain to her that she did not respond to my emails. She will respond to a text or facebook instantly however. I do not know what this younger generation is coming to!

I believe ASM made the horse revolvers and the Pocket Models for Replica and Uberti made the belt revolvers and Pocket 36s.
