To lube or not to lube?

I have been reloading since 1966 after my time in the Army, have used Hornady spray lube since it first came out before that it was RCBS lube on a stamp pad. The only stuck case I have had was because I used the wrong shell holder I had successfully resized about four cases when this one popped out.

Now that you mention it, i did have a stuck case in sizer with the wrong shell holder, got lucky and was able to take apart and reassemble with correct shell holder and pulled it right off. Several years ago but i still remember, hot dog. Even better i haven't repeated my mistake since. :)

Always -always- lube bottle neck cases. It makes life SO much easier. I will also lightly lube pistol cases too.

I highly recommend using Dillon spray lube, or make your own (lanolin based recipes are online). I once got a .308 case stuck in my die after using Hornady one shot. I’ve also tried the wax which is a pita to me. Neither the Hornady or the wax worked nearly as well as the Dillon.

Good luck.
