After 6 months and over 800rounds of owning the G22 I have decided to put my G22 up for sale. Gun is okey, however I could not get over the weird grip angle. Gun had 3 failure to feeds and 1 failure to eject (could be ammo, dunno). But other than the grip angle everything seemed acceptable. Still wanting a .40cal but I dont know w/c other brand to get.

Thanks in advance for everyones help.

G22

Take the G22 and some $$$$$$ and get you a H&K USP Compact in .40 cal.......
I presently own both and are extremely pleased w/ both.... My 2 cents :)

the jamming could be caused by ammo or sissy grip.
I usually don't notice any gun's ergo while shooting as I concentrate more on my target and the squeeze.

I own a Glock 22 that was a gift. Thus I can never part with it.

I also own a Smith and Wesson M&P40. I highly recommend it. You'll dig it. Give it a try. The G22 stays in my safe now. The M&P follows me around all the time. :D

+1 for the HK USP Compact if you want a manual safety, P2000 if you want DA/SA with decocker or the LEM for a single pull weight every shot.

Also take a look at the Sig P229 in DA/SA or DAK, similar to HKs LEM.

I dropped mine for a 1911.

My only real gripe with the Glock was the trigger. It wasn't terrible, just....gooey. I learned to use it.

Having said that, MY problem was the trigger, YOUR problem is the grip angle, the solution to both of these problems appears to be an XD.

Check into an XD. I don't have one in .40 but like the 9mm and 45.

Maybe a range near you has rentals that you can try before you decide?

Good luck,
DFW1911

I'm a big fan of the USP.

I think they are definitely worth taking a look at.

FWIW, I also owned an M&P and, for me anyway, there is no comparison. I'll take the HK every day and twice on Sunday.

i couldn't get over the grip angle either and that is why i got rid of my 19 a while back. i would suggest the xd line. i own 2 in .40 and i absolutly love em. i have almot 6k through my servic model and over 2k through my sc. they are great, reliable, accurate guns and s stand behinf thier products and the customer, i have never had a single issue with either if them or any of the other xd's i have experience with.

You have lot's of options, but if you like the gun for what it is and only have a problem with the grip angle, I'd go toward the M&P. They can be had with or without external and mag safeties, and the backstrap can be changed. They have a very low bore axis, which means less muzzle rise.

Basically, the M&P offers everything the Glock and XD don't. ANd it's made in the USA.

Glocks and XD's are fine pistols but, like you, I can't deal with the grip angle of a Glock, and I don't care for the high bore axis and loaded chamber indicator on the XD.

The best guns for the money to replace a G22?
1. S&W M&P. Designed with the .40 in mind.
2. Springfield XD.

Price is no object? Also consider the HK p2000 or p30.
(I chose the M&P40c myself).

If price is a factor, get a S&W MP40.
If price is no factor, get a Sig P229 in .40

Both are excellent guns and have excellent ergonomics.

This is my first post on here so lets see if I'm doing this correct. I have an hk usp compact .40 and I am thinking about selling it. I have been reading several threads on various sites that praise the hk usp compact so Im wondering if I should sell it or keep it. I need the cash so we shall see... I also have a glock 22, was not to keen on it the first time I shot it but each time I qualify w/the glock I seem to like it more and more. I have a feeling that Im happier with the glock over the hk but it's prolly b/c I shoot the glock more. If I do sell the hk where should I post info about the sale of the gun?

Combat,

Welcome to The High Road.

Information about a gun sell goes in the Trading Post Section, in the Buy, Sell, Trade Handguns sub forum. Be sure to read the Sticky at the top of that sub forum if you decide to post in it.

Again, welcome!

John

Tydephan,

Thank you for the welcome, I have been busy searching the site and enjoy same. Thanks for the info on where to buy/sell, Im sure sooner or later I'll be posting in there!

Try a HK P2000 or a Sig P229. Both have grip angles different than the Glock and both are heavier, lending to less felt recoil.
