And anyone else heading out into the field. Best of luck, shoot straight, and have fun. Tomorrow is opening day for rifle season here in Maine. I'm all geared up and hitting the sack early tonight. Meeting my hunting buddies early then headed to our stands.

The weather looks warm, in the 50s, but fairly sunny. The deer have been moving through our woodlot and we have high hopes. I've been waiting for this day for months!

Have a great time out there.

Jeff

Tomorrow is first day of muzzleloader. I will be out there, even though the temperature is going to be 72 . Last year I killed my biggest deer to date on the first day. I hope that I have the same luck and I wish ya'll the best luck.

Jeff, good luck.

We were talking about the warm weather for tomorrow AM at work today. Warm weather and a later start as the clocks aren't set back yet.

Although today isn't opening day it is the first chance i have had to get in the woods.
Today is very special to me because last summer i was fortunate enough to be able to buy the timber that i have enjoyed hunting sinc:e my youth. The farmland that surrounds it also. 160 acres in all.
Here i am at this moment in my climber with my recurve on my lap overlooking a nice scrape. The trees and terrain are quite familiar but today it looks much different to me. Today I own it., that is a good feeling.
Good hunting to all!

kbbailey, congrats! That must be a great feeling. My brother and I have been looking for a piece of land to work, hunt and call our own. Someday . . .

I haven't missed an opening day for quail season forever either

Here's. A couple self shot pics of me and the worlds worst bird dog today.
