Saw Tom Knapp put on an exhibition shoot this afternoon, very impressive and entertaining. Think I'll go back tomorrow and watch again.

Threw stuff in the air, shot it all before it hit the ground. Took six tries but finally hit 9 hand thrown clays one at a time. Blew up a gallon of gasoline.
If I make it to tomorrows show I'll remember to take the camera.

Went back again today, got pics. Got picked to assist in one of the routines, brought home an autographed ball cap too. :D
Mr. Knapp was on hand both before and after the show for questions and conversation, very personable fellow.

Attempting 9 hand thrown clays. Took several tries, had a 15-20mph cross wind.

"Pheasant Plucker" rounds. What you can't see is the rubber chicken going 30' in the air.

Oh yeah, my little part in the show (that's me on the left).
Kids threw thirty eggs and Knapp shot them one at a time. Girl on the tables job is to make sure the kids throw them high enough! Fortunately for her the kids had good arms.

What's the earth shattering ka-boom from?

Plastic gallon jug of gasoline. There is some kind of detonating device attached to the jug that has to be hit dead center to set it off, he wouldn't give anymore details except "Don't try this at home". Fire dept. was standing by.

Saw a segment on some shooting show where he had a tiny camera mounted top dead center of the gun...perfect sight picture...9 hand-thrown clays. No wasted motion, gun moved smoothly and decisively from clay to clay.

Ain't you got trees out there
They don't call it the "Great Plains" for nothing!
Knapp got to contend with Kansas winds too, first day 20mph with gusts to thirty in his face, next day 15-25 from the side.
