I think I officially converted him over the last couple of month's. Here's what pushed him over to our side:

1) He recently had a baby with his wife and lives out in the country, 20 miles from a police station.
2) He wanted advice on a suitable handgun for his small framed wife, who's never been around guns before. 38 special revolver all the way.
3) We took him and his wife out today, did a quick safety review and let them shoot my Ruger 9mm, AR-15 and a 38 special revolver.

The brother's wife loved the 38 special and did really well with it, she's taking it home with her. My brother shot my AR-15 and had a blast, lol. This was the guy that supported an AWB just 6 month's ago....I love it! He shot my 9mm and did well with that too.

My brother mentioned that he had a great time and his premonitions about gun owners and guns were destroyed.

Great Job.
Converting one anti gun at a time is the way of keeping out freedom and rights. Gentle persuasion beats the confrontation.

Very good job! Conversions don't come easy. His wife may become a real positive in his move from the dark side. Young women with children often do. Best wishes that this is a lifetime change for your brother.

My wife wasn't a bent either way regarding firearms during our early years. Then one day she was out with my eldest and had an unpleasant (no one was hurt, just scared) experience. The next day I took her to the range and she has now had a CCW for decades.

Funny how that maternal instinct kicks in. Or as she has said, "You don't mess with the mommy".

My brother is actually going shopping for his own 9mm today, looking to catch a black friday deal. I told him to look at the S&W SVDE 9mm, as they are selling for under $300.

Excellent! Get the woman on your side and the rest is easy. My wife didn't have to be dragged kicking and screaming, but she didn't like shooting that much. The main problem was that she picked out a 12-oz Charter Pink Lady .38 as "her" gun and it was pretty snappy. She now uses a 4" S&W model 67 weighing about 38-oz. She shoots it well and loves shooting it. Now she has practically stolen my .357 lever rifle.

That's really good to hear man, keep it up! I love it when these things happen!
A couple of girls I've dated have really got into firearms.

Good for you and good for your brother and his family! While my oldest brother was never anti-gun (has a shotgun for bird hunting), he had never fired a handgun before. During his last visit I remedied that situation and took him out to the local indoor range. I let him shoot a S&W Model 34, a Beretta Neos, and a Browning Hi-Power. Did better with the semi-autos than the revolver and had a great time shooting.

Time and patience will gradually convert many naysayers. Good job.
