Bobby, calm down. You are taking this personally. We know you think that a Glock is better than every other pistol chosen by anyone else here. Okay. You have made your point. You also observe that others do not agree that yours is better than theirs.
What do you do for a living? I am a forester, and my Witness has been through every bad thing that it can and has worked just fine. I have never fired it in self defense. But I have been shot at, I have had guns pointed at me. When I go into the woods, it is because of my job. I do that for a living and dare to say I have been in worse places than most here, save for those who have been in the artic or in Vietnam. I have been places where the maps fail, swamps in the US where even the USGS did not completely map. So, my Witness obviously passes your test.
The 1911 has been in vastly more situations, more environments, from ice to desert, from jungle swamps to open pastures, than your Glock. That is a fact and you cannot deny that, regardless of how you condemn it. You do not have to like the 1911, but if you cannot see that it remains a viable design, despite its age, then you are certainly not looking at things logically.
Ditto for the Hi Power. Yet your Glock will likely perform just fine. You opened yourself up when you talked about how great it is to the detriment of older designs, and then stepped one notch higher by then blasting those who take care of their pistols. And if cops are to be our gauge, then the .38 Special obviously made a better combat round than the 9mm, as cops carried and depended more on that round than the 9mm.
Relax. We all know what you carry, that you trust it, and that you believe it to be the best. That's okay. Now, it's your turn to realize the same about the SIG, the 1911, the BHP, the CZ-75 etc.
