If you're askin', I recommend a Ruger three screw 357. They are around. Clements Custom guns will build anything you want on that frame if you want a custom gun. You can shoot magnum handloads. You have to go a long way to beat a Ruger.
Freedom Arms are worth every nickel that you pay for them. They will ruin you for shooting anything else. You can feel the difference.
Colt blackpowder and Colt replicas are also a lot of fun for a reasonable price. Walkers and Dragoons are the big guns of that set.
You might take a look at the Ruger 50th in 44 Special. They feel real good in the hand and I am sure that they shoot well.
The Freedom Arms pictured is a 97 in 44 Special (Yah I know I coudda had a real magnum).
