Man. They were just as nice as everyone says.

I saw a Rodeo, a Cowboy (actually, Rodeo II -- see below) and a full-boat Single Action. Calibers .38 Special and .45 Colt.

All very well fitted. Smooth precise action feel. The true Single Action had beautiful Turnbull color case.

The entry-level Rodeo seemed just as nice mechanically as the more expensive models -- simply with a matte finish and no color case.

I want an authentic, evocative single action for general shooting and owning (not competition). I know what brand I'm saving for now.

EDIT TO ADD: Sorry, my mistake. The second gun I saw, USFA's new mid-priced sixgun with nickel finish and wood grips, is the Rodeo II, not the Cowboy.

The Cowboy is another new mid-priced USFA model. It's like a Rodeo but with a glossy blued (rather than matte) finish.

See USFA's website:

Yes, the USFA's are nice. Probably the best SAA out there, although I hear Colt is making them very well again, but I own a USFA not a Colt. The Rodeo was a STEAL at the sub $500 price I paid for it a year and a half ago or so. They are $700 now priced between a Ruger, Italian clones and the Colt.

Another option with USFA is purchasing through Turnbull Restorations.

I believe the Turnbull product is roughly equivalent to USFA's "US Pre-war" product but I'm not certain. Hopefully someone will be along to clarify. I do know that I like the "non-white" hammer.

For what I wanted (4-3/4 / .45 Colt), Turnbull actually had product on the shelf and went out the same day I called. There may have been other USFA dealers that had similar "instant gratification" but I hadn't found them. Turnbull is just another option for buying USFA - "rose by any other name..." and all that.

The current Colts are pretty nice too but I found them to be the single most exasperatingly difficult brand/product to research.

Even though the Rodeo is listed only in 38 Spl & 45 Colt , I contacted them last Fall about making me a 44 Spl . They checked and did have the required parts and now I have my Rodeo 44 Spl :)

Prices are coming down too now that they have a large distributor AcuSport stocking them .

Good people , excellent guns !

Pilot, re-check the price on a Rodeo. The MSRP is $550 on the USFA website; your dealer should beat that.

North Bender. I bought a Rodeo about a year and a half ago off of Gunbroker for $450 shipped. It proven to be a great SAA. I don't think you can find them for $450 anymore. At even $550 - $600 its a great gun.

Does anyone have one of the .45 LC ones with a .45 ACP cylinder or the Lend Lease model?

I really neeeeeeeeeeed ( :D ) a SAA, and one that would shoot .45 ACP that I already own with accuracy would be awesome
