Topic: What is the typical shelf life of powder?

I have a newbie question for you guys. I would like to know what the typical shelf life for powder is, and how/where you'd recommend storing it.

Minuteman-Heat is the enemy when storing powder, keep it in your basement or someplace cool and it will outlast you. I have some powder from 30 years ago that still performs just fine.

I'm still shooting Hogdon 4831 WWII surpus, I bought 100 lbs in the early 70's for 50 cents a pound. Still have 20 shoots as good as when I got it. Ihave allwaysstored it in my cool cellar.
