Torn on What Stock to Get

I got my tonsils out last Friday and decided that I'm going to get myself a get-well present since i've been sitting in my house since then in annoying pain. I've wanted a new stock for my XS7 for sometime and decided this would be a great time. I just can't decide whick one to get, so I turn to you guys.

My vote is for the classic, but that's because I have one and love it. That said the dakota looks very nice. Take a look at this thread the first post has a pic or two of my gun. The color is forest camo.

Both are nice, But I think the Pepper laminate would look best on that rifle.

Ordered up the pepper laminate stock earlier today. I'll post up some pics when its in.

I like the Dakota grey-looking stock better. I'm not a huge fan of the look of laminates, that's an attractive stock.

I'm not a fan of laminated birch stocks. Birch is a soft wood and I feel can spread when action screws are tightened down as much as necessary. I'm convinced that my glass-bedded laminated Remington stock spread in just a few months of use. After pillar-bedding, it held accuracy much better.

Laminated stocks also tend to weigh more than most walnut stocks, due to the glue weight. Checkering also gets worn down quickly, due to the soft wood. Flat-topped patterns would last longer, but nobody seems to do them and people may not buy them.

pepper laminate, because marlin has a laminate stock that looks just like the nutmeg one and can just buy one of those but not the pepper one...

I'm gonna be different, but to me the pepper looks best on stainless guns. I'd go nutmeg on a blued gun.

I have a nutmeg on a blued Savage 110 and just ordered a Royal Jacaranda for a blued Remington 700. Both are Ross Thumbholes. The Royal Jacaranda isn't my usual style, but what the heck. I've been tempted to go with the pepper but would prefer it on a stainless. My only stainless is a Savage 12 VLP, but that factory laminate stock isn't going anywhere.
